About Charlotte Lukes: Charlotte, and her late husband, Roy Lukes have been major influences in Door County’s environmental movement for as long as we can remember. The couple spent their lifetimes protecting the natural beauty of the peninsula and sharing its magic through their teachings, writings, and personal charm. As “partners in nature”, they built the Ridges Sanctuary into a center for conservation, education, research, and advocacy. In 2018, Charlotte and Roy were named to the Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame in recognition of a life-long dedication to scientific research and conservation efforts in Door County. She also writes columns for the Peninsula Pulse and Door County Living.
The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be in person at Crossroads at Big Creek at 6:30 p.m.
